Job Purpose
Execute R&D activities for Synthesis Lab as per guidelines and support to ensure achievement of project milestones as set timelines. Process and Scale-up activities to ensure world- class specialty products with leading edge technologies. To coordinate and ensure upkeep of laboratory equipment, their calibration and AMCs & CMCs.
Job Context
The Epoxy business was started in 1992, at the Thailand unit, with technology and collaboration from a Japanese company, mainly to cater to SEA market. Over the years, it has scaled up and now has a global presence. Although the company was a late entrant into epoxies, it is one of the fastest growing epoxy companies and features in the global top 3 among specialty products and capabilities.
The business is organized into four geographies, i) India + ME + Africa ii) APAC iii) EU + Russia + Turkey iv) Americas (North America). Sales and marketing is managed regionally. There are 3 R&D centres in Thailand, India and Germany. The Thailand unit is the parent Epoxy unit. The business has adapted to stiff competition, as competition has evolved -from companies from Taiwan, Korea and China. This is constant challenge to profitability.
Job Responsibilities
- Prioritization & Planning
- Plan, prioritise and implement activities to achieve project milestones., as per timelines, quality standards, safety and other protocols.
- Liaise and assist scale-up teams.
- Initiate and work on literature search and support patent efforts
- Assessment & Evaluation of products
- To collect raw materials required for the projects of developing new products
- To conduct lab trials as pas per given project planning.
- To consolidate and submit the results, analysis and findings for superiors’ review
- Implementation of projects
- Implement technical procedures solutions in the plant
- Carry out validations in the lab
- To follow SOPs or experiments, process and equipment.
- Safety, Health & Environment
- Ensure compliance of all safety requirements and environment related statutory requirements.
- Participate in audits and take corrective actions as per findings and recommendations.
- Take part in creating | updating of MSDS for new product.
- People Development
- Implement the set KRAs, objectives, performance assessment, training need identification & proper communication of role clarity and resource utilization.
- Identify skill gaps and recommend training for skill development through behavioural | IDP improvement
Qualifications:
Master of Sci-Honors,Master of Chemical Engineering
Minimum Experience Level:
5-8 Years
