Job Description:

Job Purpose

To monitor effective execution of Safety Plan, Standards and Procedures of the unit in order to ensure safe and healthy work place for all employees and also to meet stakeholders expectation and Ensure continual improvement in methods & performance related to Safety.

Ganjam (Odisha)

Ganjam – It is located around 140 k.m. away from Bhubaneswar (Capital of Odisha) and well connected with National highway NH16. Unit is having well established residential colony for all its employees and English medium School up to 10th class affiliated with ICSE board.

Experience

10 to 12 years’

Candidate Profile:

B.E. Mechanical / Chemical / Electrical with Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety from Regional Labour Institute or Central Labour Institute with an experience of 10-12 years of core Safety field of at-least 3-4 years with Chemical Industries.

KRA11.Organize & execute the planned Safety actions to achieve the SHE objectives1.Execute & organize of mitigation plan through risk analysis
2.Organize the use of tools/techniques by employees and continuously evaluation for its effectiveness.
KRA22.Safety compliance related actions within time frame for zero non-conformance1.Providing updated safety regulations to managers through training programs and interaction with individuals
2.Coordinating with the concerned department by extending internal and external help to ensure compliance.
3.Ensure all compliances are up to date.
4.Liaison with the DISH officials
5.Monitor the deviations wrt. Factories Act and other rules and get it complied with the help of DH & FH.
6.Prepare and submit the records updating the legal requirements related to safety
KRA33.Organize and test emergency preparedness systems (on site and off site) and procedures to ensure safe and secure work environment for all stakeholders1.Organize site emergency plan and procedure.
2.Impart training to identified members of Emergency Response Team (ERT). Arrange refresher training.
3.Arrange Table Top mock drill as per plan.
4.Co-ordinate emergency plan for accidents and incidents related to the respective units, occurring outside the unit premises.
5.Help in co-ordination training on emergency preparedness.
6.Ensure Procurement of necessary equipment
KRA44.Organize and implement departmental action plans for EMP, OHSAS MP to achieve continual improvement in the standards of safety & environment in the departments1.Organize annual EMP and OHSAS MP
2.Action to implement the targeted EMP and OHSAS MP
3.Co-ordinate EMP and OHSAS MP by Audit
4.Department related documentation of ISO and OHSAS.
5.To support CA and VAPS during IMS implementation process
6.To ensure integration of Safety standards & Procedures in line function
KRA55.To improve safety system / procedure & culture by continual improvements1.Implementation of Behaviour Based Safety based on DuPont Model
2.Implementation of Process Safety Management based on DuPont Model
3.Review to update the safety systems & procedures as & when required.
4.To ensure implementation of best practices adopted by other group units / other units.
5.To update the knowledge by internet searching & having touch with external competent safety experts.
6.Facilitating the effective Implementation of Process Safety Management System based on DuPont guidelines.
7.To create synergy among with chemical group units in safety related issues.
KRA66.Emergency Preparedness1.Identification of potential risks which may cause major accidents.
2.Evaluation of safety measures are to be taken to prevent such situations.
3.Identify & ensure implementation of additional suitable safety measures.
4.Facilitation of hazards identification & preparation of all emergency scenarios for On Site, Off Site & Enroute Emergencies (May arise during road transportation of hazardous chemicals).
5.Identify available resources and ensure the effectiveness to control safety emergencies.
6.Periodically review and updation of ON-SITE emergency control plan.
7.To update & ensure implementation of emergency control procedures.
8.To conduct Mock drill & training for emergency control procedures.
9.To ensure timely rectification of gaps identified during mock drill.
10.Risk assessment and dispersion models for emergency preparedness.
11.Mutual Aid scheme for emergency preparedness.
KRA77.Organize and monitor Safety practices and work plans through Work Place Safety and Process Safety Management to strengthen the safety culture1.Analysis and compilation of the result of subcommittees
2.Compile and analyse Performance measurement as leading , current and lagging indicators
3.Provide support to sub committees of site for implementation of safety system.
4.To identify gaps in implementation of standers, approved by steering committee of chemical business and report to DH.
5.Visual display of safety in related area to improve awareness of employees
