The Group would like to expand its Retail Footprint and leverage the trust and synergy built over the years in luxury retail by launching a Jewellery Business in India. India's gems and jewellery market contributed around 7% to GDP and 14% to India’s total merchandize export in February’21 with a market size was at US$ 78.50 billion in FY21. The jewellery industry in India is largely driven by individual family owned small to medium size businesses. Thus, the Group anticipates that there is scope of development of large retailers / brand in jewellery industry in near future. The venture will benefit from the retail experience, knowhow and trust build over the years with various ABG Luxury Retail Brands. It will also be able to harness the people, technical and operational capabilities from Group’s retail arms. The range will be developed as a proof of concept for an integrated offering and may be diversified with multiple brands post establishment of a commercially viable business model. 

Job Purpose: 

The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective operation of the store to ensure maximum profitability. This role requires a dynamic individual with a proven track record in jewellery or luxury retail management, possessing the ability to lead and inspire a team drive the value and culture framework at the store. Further, will be accountable for driving sales, maintaining optimal inventory levels, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, and ensuring compliance with commercial and regulatory standards.




 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and implement sales strategies for sales mix, ticket size, conversion ratio, monthly scheme conversions to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Monitor and analyse sales performance on regular basis (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual), identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Foster a customer centric sales-driven culture among the store team.
  • Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures for all functions at store.
  • Ensure efficient inventory management, minimizing stockouts and overstocks.
  • Implement and maintain high standards of visual merchandising and store presentation.
  • Monitor and manage key financial metrics, such as store sales, expenses, inventory level, and profit margins.
  • Identify opportunities to improve store profitability through cost control and revenue enhancement.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of inventory, assortment gaps, and competitor analysis, customer demand and latest trend reports. 
  • Implement and monitor systems to ensure transparency and compliance with ethical standards.
  • Demonstrate vigilance in identifying and addressing any potential issues related to business practices.
  • Ensure a consistently excellent customer experience by setting and maintaining high service standards, and execution seamless exchange experience.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Implement initiatives to enhance overall customer satisfaction. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with regular and HNI customers, ensuring personalised service.
  • Develop strategies to improve customer conversion, review non-converted customer database, and action taken to drive higher conversion rates and repeat buying.
  • Ensure compliance with all commercial and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market changes.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute promotional activities.
  • Implement marketing strategies to drive foot traffic and increase sales.
  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Coach and mentor team members to facilitate performance development, career growth.
  • Provide a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and employee engagement.
  • Align the store with the company's culture, values, and brand image.
  • Act as a role model for the desired behaviours and values within the organization.

 

 


 
 

Functional & Behavioral Competencies:

 

  • Should be proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, SAP, Microsoft D365.
  • Should have excellent leadership quality and team handling experience.
  • Should have sales and revenue management experience. 
  • Results-oriented with a focus on achieving sales and profitability targets.
  • Must possess strong analytical skills for reviewing sales data and making data-driven decisions.
  • Should be proactive in customer service and experience enhancement.

 

 

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience of over 8 years in jewellery, retail management, with a successful track record in achieving sales targets and managing a team.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management, merchandising, and retail operations, budgeting and financial analysis
  • Familiarity with jewellery industry trends and products is a must.
