Job Purpose

Monitor, implement and control production activities to achieve targeted production of PAC (Liquid and Powder) in all shifts while meeting optimum levels of safety, quality and cost controls

Job Context & Major Challenges

Chemicals Business of Aditya Birla Group produces Chlor-Alkali products among other Chemicals through seven units situated in different parts of the country. Eighth unit is under project phase. ABG is largest producer of Chlor Alkali in India with a market share of approx. 26%.

One of its state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities is based at Vilayat having the capacity to produce 1000 TPD of Caustic. The Unit also produces Chlorine derivates namely Chlorinated Paraffins (CP), Poly Aluminum Chloride (PAC powder & liquid), Stable Bleaching Powder (SBP), Phosphoric Acid (PA), Aluminum Chloride (ALCP), SCO & CBGP.

The unit, located in the chemical hub of South Gujarat at Vilayat, is poised for an ambitious growth.

The job holder has to ensure manufacturing of PAC (liquid & Powder) is done as per the annual production targets & specific consumption norms, also complying with Environmental norms and Safety Standards at Site.
Key Challenges:
1. Achieving production targets as per P&B.
2. Coordination with Marketing for production planning of different grades so as to cater to customer requirements timely and also ensure water balance in PAC plant.
3. Enhance life of MSGL Reactors in PAC plant.
4. Establish SOPs for new PAC grades being developed.
5. Enhancing productivity by optimization of Process parameters & achieving superior performance from equipment.
6. Technological upgradation of Process to improve process capability.

KRA11. Production/Operations:
Ensure smooth operation of the PAC (Liquid & Powder) plant by maintain all control parameters
1. Implement production processes
2. Check plant performance parameters on daily basis and report
3. Implement set operation parameters and consumption(Raw materials, utilities and packing materials) norms
4. Timely arrange for consumables in the plant
5. Update plant SOPs to improve processes.
6. Ensure proper and timely dispatches of goods in coordination with marketing
KRA22. Product Quality:
Maintain quality of the product so as to meet customer requirements
1. Maintain process and quality parameters strictly
2. Control parameters to optimize consumption of chemicals
3. Improve process capability to manufacture a product within agreed limits.
KRA33. Plant Performance:
Implement plans to ensure optimum plant performance for achieving targets
1. Support in implementation of maintenance activities (in coordination with engineering) to ensure minimum losses
2. Follow Standard Operating Procedures for maximum efficiency and less damage
3. Check & inform breakdown failures, shutdown losses, etc. to maintenance department
4. Coordinate with maintenance department for availability of manpower and spare equipment when required
KRA44. Operational efficiency & Continuous Improvement
Check process conditions to improve the operational efficiency
1. Apply different problem solving tools to reduce the breakdowns
2. Check process parameter deviations
3. Debottleneck and follow SOPs to avoid any damages
4. Manage the shift activities and prepare daily reports
5. Timely make available all material, resources and infrastructure to the team for efficient operations
KRA55. System Management (Safety, Sustainability & WCM):
Adhere to safety & statutory environmental requirements
1. Strictly adhere to safety norms & safe operational procedures
2. Strictly adhere to OHSAS 18000, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 norms.
3. Implement IMS, WCM and sustainability practices
4. Handle emergency situations like Reactor Puncture etc. under Disaster Management activities
5. Train the team to comply with these norms
6. Maintain process systems having zero effluent and zero accident
KRA66. Customer Service
Maintain system and procedures for customer delight
1. Identify internal and external customer needs & take timely action on the same
2. Initiate corrective actions, when needed
3. Reduce rework to ensure delivery to customer on time.

Qualifications:
Bachelor Of Engineering,Bachelor Of Technology

Minimum Experience Level:
2-8 Years
