Job Description:

Job Purpose: Manage receipt, storage and issue of all construction materials, machineries, engineering materials, miscellaneous project materials during project phase and thereafter manage receipt, storage and issue of raw materials, packaging materials, engineering materials, equipment, machine parts, spares, consumables and various materials required for manufacturing operations in a manner that the standards of Birla Carbon are adhered to in terms of quantity, quality, cost, safety and environmental aspects.

Project:

 

  1. Receipt, Storage and maintaining optimum Stock of machineries and construction materials during project stage

 

  • Develop strategies and processes in line with Birla Carbon standards for project materials receipt, storage and issue.
  • Ensure accuracy of stock keeping by implementing adequate checks and controls in inward and issue of materials.

  1. Co-ordination with project teams and purchase teams for optimum stock level and storage space management

 

  • Collaborate with project teams and purchase teams and proactively forecast goods and machinery receipt plan and schedule so that receipt and storage is well planned and executed.

 

  • Plan in advance and ensure availability of all resources required to unload, transport, store and issue machinery and equipment.

  1. Physical Inventory Management: Accurate and safe storage of all project materials.

 

  • Develop strategies for safe and secured physical inventory management in order to ensure that the stock of all project materials are stored in good condition, secured to prevent sabotage / misuse / theft.  
  • Also ensure that necessary precautions are taken to address safety and environmental aspects during receipt, storage and issue of all the materials.

  1. Accuracy of stock management: Book Vs Physical stock 

 

  • Establish stringent control systems to monitor inward and outward movements goods, so that book stock and physical quantities match. 

 

  • Develop and Implement processes for stock accounting targeting zero variance.

Operations:

 

  1. Optimum and safe stock keeping of Carbon Black Feed Stock (CBFS)

 

  • Ensure submission of daily stock & consumption status of CBFS for further procurement planning Ensure availability of tankers for lifting CBFS and regular interaction with transporters Co ordination with weighbridge for CBFS tankers Reconcile for proper accounting of CBFS transactions from port to plant consumption Contract review of following

1) Port Storage Tanks 2) Agents 3) Transporters Ensure optimum levels of CBFS at both Plant and Port for smooth unloading / discharge of material Bill passing for Supplier, Shipper, Surveyor, Storage Terminal and Transporters

  1. Raw Materials, Packing Material, Engineering materials and spares receipt, stock recording in SAP and in books, ensuring timely GRN and payment to suppliers

Close co ordination with quality control department for timely inspection of incoming Raw Materials & Packing Materials Timely unloading of all incoming materials Ensure timely intimation to supplier in case of deviation In case of any transit damage co ordination with accounts & insurance authorities for claim benefit Provide daily MIS for receipt Timely intimation to users regarding receipt and quality inspection clearance Provision of Rejection data Ensuring timely sending GRNs to Accounts for bill passing and payment to suppliers Monthly GR/IR review

  • Implement 5S and World Class Visual Management systems in storage locations
