Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing legal advice to senior management on specific regulations pertaining to Compliance & Regulatory issues, Environmental Regulations
- Monitor environmental clearances and permissions of business units to ensure compliance.
- Monitoring of Regulatory Compliance module, and being the lead to attend legal updates provided by knowledge partner.
- Provide training and awareness to the stakeholders regularly on the changes in law. Analyze Trends and best practices.
- Strategic inputs in Litigation Management including Environmental matters, Compliances at NGT, HC and SC- mastering the facts of a given case, research on the applicable laws, attending hearings, coordinating with AOR and updating and tracking the matter on regular basis.
- Supporting business units with regard to replying to SCNs issued by the authorities for Environmental laws.
- Advocacy and policy development.
- Follow ESG trends, laws, compliances and send out advisories.
- Conducting legal research to support business decisions or provide guidance in areas where laws are ambiguous or unclear and to determine how existing laws apply to new scenarios, and / or to identify precedents for current cases or issues.
- Maintain current knowledge of alterations in legislation, make representations to the authorities, and create awareness by providing training handbooks to the business and legal colleagues.
- Standardizing legal compliances and reviewing them periodically to ensure that they conform to legal requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
- Collaborating with Business Counsels and Unit Counsels from time to time to discuss their legal issues and reviewing case files to ensure that relevant information is in place, and devise efficient defense strategies for Grasim.
- Assessments of units on Environment compliances and regulatory compliances. Understanding the compliance requirements and highlighting key issues and concerns post audits, and to ensure proper closure.
- Preparing various legal reports summarizing legal issues and suggesting viable solutions for alleviating risks by applying effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues.
- Liaising with Government Authorities, External Regulators and Advisers such as Lawyers and Auditors, as and when required.
Qualifications:
- LL.B / LL.M with 5 to 10 years of working experience in regulated industry or any field of specialty at a well-reputed law firm or in legal department of a multinational company or respective regulatory authorities in the area of specialty.
- Additional advantage if having at least 2-3 years of experience in specific legal field or regulated business transactions and developed processes.
- Experience in diverse cultural and educational backgrounds located across
multiple states / countries is preferred.
Skills Required:
- Excellent knowledge and understanding in specific field of Law and procedures,
- To understand legal concepts and issues in domestic and international context, business challenges and needs, and relevant regulatory and compliance principles,
- Should have demonstrated ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies by providing optimal and workable solutions to the relevant stakeholders,
- To understand legal & regulatory framework and the tools applicable to Grasim and apply the learnings in day-to-day working,
Qualifications:
LL.B / B.L.S.,Master Of Law
