1) Job Purpose

This position is responsible for ensuring day-to-day infra support to the employees. This includes desktop/ laptop and associated peripheral support as well as network and local servers and associated setups and configuration. This position will remain responsible for Infrastructure support for various IT and Digital projects in the unit. 

This position also will explore technical solutions for Infra and determine the applicability of the same to the unit and makes recommendations for deployment in co-ordination with Corporate Infra team.

This position will be the SPOC for Corporate infra projects for units.

3) Job Context & Major Challenges:

Digital Hindalco needs more IT setup to be in every unit which in turn needs robust IT infrastructure. To ensure that this position will look for someone who 

 

  1. Actively monitors and analyzes user requests, evaluates and applies solutions.
  2. Troubleshoots any IT technical issues and resolves in a courteous manner in person or via email, telephone and/or other electronic medium in time. Also become proactive in managing and maintaining existing infrastructure so that incidents for troubleshooting gets reduced
  3. Completes setup and configuration of company laptops / desktops / Tablets / Other end points and troubleshoot these devices as well as and when required.
  4. Maintains accurate IT asset inventory and assist in acquisition, deployment, support, and retiring of IT assets based on established IT life cycle management
  5. Consults IT knowledgebase(s), Internet, other team members (Corporate IT / Group IT / Own or Other Hindalco Unit IT) and any other appropriate resources for the purpose of independent troubleshooting
  6. Corresponds with with vendors / Corporate IT / Group IT on resolving issues like hardware warranty/Third Party Support and service delivery
  7. Administers computer networks and related components including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, storage arrays, virtual hosts / hypervisors, the Wide Area Network (WAN), and the Local Area Network (LAN)
  8. Installs, patches, and upgrades hardware and software in accordance with the company’s life cycle management policy
  9. Monitors and maintains email applications, virus protection software, web filtering and monitoring appliances, and firewall profiles
  10. Implements network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware
  11. Maintains user profiles ensuring password policies and other system policies are enforced
  12. Performs data backups and disaster recovery operations 
  13. Assists with new IT projects by investigating options and making recommendation as to what systems, hardware, and software changes are appropriate for the company including and not limited to desktops, laptops, Tablets (handheld / head mount), printers, and area/department specific software
  14. Adhere and review SLA on regular basis
  15. Co-ordinate within house or third party infra support team to get the jobs done
  16. Trains and enhances team's (as applicable) as well as user knowledge regarding available infrastructure as applicable
