Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Planning & Budgeting

  • Prepare and implement detailed micro plans ensuring availability of field instruments, DCS, SCADA, and PLC systems.

  • Prepare BOQ and cost estimation for instrumentation and automation schemes.

  • Develop bar chart plans with defined timelines for execution.

  • Provide technical support for existing plant DCS-related activities.

  • Review modification documents, datasheets, and ensure procurement and timely execution of modifications.

  • Monitor capital and operational expenditure to ensure alignment with approved budgets.


2. Process Management

  • Coordinate and implement detailed engineering, procurement, expediting, and site execution for field instruments, DCS, SCADA, and PLC systems.

  • Provide critical inputs during Basic Engineering Package (BEP) and detailed engineering phases.

  • Review all technical documentation such as datasheets, MRs, enquiries, offers, TBA, drawings, and QAPs.

  • Coordinate stage-wise and final inspections to ensure timely delivery of materials to site.

  • Supervise erection and commissioning of field instruments, DCS, SCADA, and PLC systems.

  • Conduct root cause analysis for breakdowns and implement preventive measures.

  • Prepare drawings, isometrics, and manage material procurement to execute plant modifications with minimal production downtime.


3. Quality Assurance

  • Execute SOPs for quality inspections and testing to ensure compliance with project and production requirements.

  • Verify material test certificates before approval and usage.

  • Ensure procurement of equipment from approved QA sources with necessary stage-wise inspections.

  • Implement “Right First Time” concept to avoid rework and maintain high-quality standards.

  • Ensure job completion, permit closure, and maintain good housekeeping after every task.

  • Develop inspection reports, testing documentation, and loop files related to executed work.


4. Capitalization of Assets

  • Ensure capitalization of assets in coordination with the Accounts department.

  • Oversee billing and documentation of all contractor-related assets.


Desired Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics, or related field.

  • Hands-on experience with DCS, SCADA, and PLC systems (specific systems can be mentioned, e.g., Siemens, ABB, Honeywell, Yokogawa).

  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation engineering principles, automation systems, and process control.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with cost and time optimization.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Familiar with industry standards, safety procedures, and QA/QC practices.
