Job Title: Lead – Employee Relations and Compliance

Role Overview:
The Lead – Employee Relations and Compliance will lead the company’s efforts and operations related to employee relations, statutory compliance, and workplace governance. The role is critical in building a safe, legally compliant, and employee-centric work environment across all sites and offices. This incumbent will proactively implement group-wide ER frameworks & strategies, drive safety culture, ensure robust contractor compliance, managing stakeholder relations (internal and external) and act as the central authority on labour law adherence and employee relations practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations (ER) and Industrial Relations (IR):
- Design and implement employee relations strategies aligned with business growth and culture.
- Act as a point of contact for addressing employee grievances, disciplinary matters, and workplace conflicts.
- Conduct regular ER diagnostics, audits, and employee pulse checks to identify and address concerns early.
- Drive implementation of group-level ER programs, tools, and initiatives across business units and geographies.
- Create awareness and build internal capability around progressive ER practices among site and business leaders.
- Promote transparent and consistent grievance redressal mechanisms across the organization.
Labour Law Compliance:
- Ensure 100% compliance with all applicable central and state labour laws (e.g., Factories Act, Shops and Establishment Act, Contract Labour Act, POSH, ESI, PF, Gratuity, etc.).
- Audit and maintain statutory registers, contractor records, and government filings across all locations.
- Serve as the nodal contact for inspections, legal notices, and interactions with regulatory authorities.
- Track and disseminate updates on legal and judicial developments impacting employment practices.
Contractor & Third-Party Compliance:
- Build and oversee a robust centralised contractor compliance system, including onboarding, documentation, and monitoring.
- Leverage digital dashboards/tools to ensure real-time visibility of contractor compliance status across sites.
- Partner with site operations, projects, and procurement teams to ensure third-party statutory compliance across renewable project & O&M sites
Safety Culture & Workplace Governance:
- Champion a culture of safety and compliance across all levels of the workforce.
- Collaborate with EHS and Operations teams to ensure seamless integration of safety protocols in daily operations.
- Drive organization-wide awareness programs on workplace safety, POSH, anti-harassment, ethics, and code of conduct.
- Standardize and oversee processes related to disciplinary actions, inquiries, show-cause notices, and terminations in line with fair and transparent practices.
- Develop, review, and implement HR policies and procedures related to discipline, grievance handling, compliance, and ethics.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Lead a team of Admin/ER/Compliance professionals across locations.
- Collaborate with Legal, Operations, Projects, and Site HR teams for alignment on ER/IR matters.
- Train HRBPs and site leaders on handling grievances and compliance matters effectively.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Postgraduate degree in HR, Law, or related field.
- 12–18 years of relevant experience in employee relations, compliance, and labour law, preferably in manufacturing, infrastructure, or energy sectors,
- Strong working knowledge of Indian labour laws and regulatory frameworks.
- Proficiency in developing systems, dashboards, and tools to monitor compliance.
