Job Description:
Lead and execute R&D projects focused on computational modelling, simulation, and optimization of aluminium smelting processes.
Technical ideation and scoping of new R&D projects to deliver scientific / technical solutions as well as develop / lead research program.
Design of measurements/experimental plan related to aluminium manufacturing process & other associated areas for model calibration and validation.
Detailed planning and execution of projects, as well as technical guidance to team members to facilitate project execution.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies on aluminium manufacturing process, industry trends in process modelling as well as perform process benchmarking.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including scientists, process engineers, and plant operation team for implementation of design solution.
Guide and mentor junior scientists and engineers on modelling methodologies and best practices.
Compilation of research proposals, technical specifications and project reports.
Publish technical findings in conference and peer-reviewed journals as well as filing of IPR.
Skills
PhD with 4-7 years of experience or MTech with 8-10 years of experience with specialization in process modelling and simulation.
Degree from a premier institution / university in Metallurgical / Mechanical / Chemical Engineering with good academic & professional records.
Demonstrated project work / thesis preferably in multiphysics computational modeling system / process modeling for improving the design and parameters optimization etc.
Must have
Expertise in multiphysics modeling, FEM, CFD and process optimization using tools like ANSYS Mechanical / FLUENT / PHOENICS / COMSOL, along with skills in programming for creating user defined function.
Excellent knowledge of transport phenomena and thermodynamics principles preferably in metal industries.
Proven track record of delivering impactful projects in an industrial R&D environment.
Demonstrated technical leadership in cross-functional project team
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Qualification
PhD or MTech in Metallurgical/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering.
