Role Overview

We are seeking an Operational Excellence (OpEx) Specialist to lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives at the plant. The role focuses on enhancing operational reliability, efficiency, and employee engagement through structured Lean practices, 5S, Kaizen, RCA, and other process improvement tools.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence Implementation

  • Plan and execute OpEx activities in line with business objectives.
  • Deploy Lean tools and 7 QC tools for process improvement.
  • Lead and support Kaizen initiatives, suggestion schemes, and employee engagement programs.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and drive actions to improve reliability (MTBF, MTTR, Poka-Yoke).
  • Identify and eliminate waste (MUDA) through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Monitor participation metrics and ensure consistent engagement across teams.


5S and Visual Management

  • Lead plant-wide 5S implementation and conduct regular audits.
  • Develop and maintain visual management systems and displays.


Behavioural Safety & BBSO Compliance

  • Increase Behaviour-Based Safety Observation (BBSO) participation through structured reviews and follow-ups.
  • Collaborate with departments to implement corrective and preventive actions.


Resource Support and Engagement

  • Provide tools, training, and support for 5S, Kaizen, and related OpEx programs.
  • Plan and manage awareness events and motivational schemes to sustain improvement culture.


External Coordination and Assessments

  • Support the plant’s participation in external assessments, award applications, and audits.
  • Organize GEMBA walks and coordinate site visits for external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate energy efficiency and resource optimization initiatives.


Reporting and Documentation

  • Maintain detailed records of all OpEx-related activities and outcomes.
  • Share regular updates with Department Heads, Unit Heads, and the Sustainability Cell.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Practical experience with Lean Manufacturing tools and methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to engage, influence, and train cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong documentation and reporting capabilities.
