As the lending arm of Aditya Birla Financial Services Group (ABFSG), Aditya Birla Finance Limited (ABFL) offers specialized lending and financing solutions in the areas of Capital Markets, Corporate/ Trade Finance, Commercial Real Estate and Mortgages. Currently ranked within the top 10 NBFCs of India, ABFL has made significant progress and the Company’s balance sheet at INR 45,000 Cr plus exceeds that of several mid-sized Banks and NBFCs

Having focused on Small ticket secured lending verticals and built a strong balance sheet on the same, ABFL has now also ventured into Small Ticket Secured Lending (STSL D2C) Business segment in order to effectively capitalize on its financial base with carefully managed exposures in this higher yield segment
  3. Small Ticket Secured Loan (STSL D2C) segment products line caters to funding short to Medium term working capital needs of small businesses and individuals, via a suite of customized short and Medium tenured products which are primarily backed by collaterals/security.
  4. The Risk & Compliance is engaged in formulating credit risk policies for all ABFL businesses, carries out risk assessment of credit proposals, obtains credit decisions from Credit Committees, monitors credit exposure and carries out recovery of over dues. It formulates risk policies in association with Central Risk, ABFSG for overall risk management in ABFL.

  • The Team Member - Legal will provide advisory services to the businesses, assistance in assessing possible legal risks and support to the business and various other stakeholders, legal documentation and implementation of legal processes across the company.


Key Challenges

The major challenges in this role are to sharpen legal research skills with respect to case laws and documentary precedents and to implement the learnings as a result of the research in the work assigned.


Enabling Skill Sets & Qualifications

  1. The critical skill sets required to meet these challenges are strong ability to learn and apply legal learnings.
  2. The education & experience required to fulfil this profile are an LLB/ Masters in Law with minimum 2 – 5 yrs of experience in the legal functions of a bank or an NBFC.

  • Advising on the transaction related to Wealth and Housing Finance. 
  • Pursue title search report for LAP cases and provide mitigants with due consultation with seniors


  • Liaising and coordinating with other departments such as Risk, compliance etc. 


  • Generally assist the Regional Legal Manager in compliance with all legal policies and assist in setting up, where necessary, relevant local legal policies and procedures to reflect specific legal requirements of India.


  • Working closely with other team members



  • To work on under the guidance of Regional Legal Manager (Non Litigation) on standardization of agreements and templates together with legal guidelines for products and documentation as appropriate and keep such documentation and guidelines updated.
  • Maintenance of MIS 
  • To draft and negotiate on transaction documents including security documents and other ancillary documents.
