Job Description:

Job Purpose:

The Director of Infrastructure Services and Operations will be responsible for operational and service management aspects of global technology infrastructure.  The role is engaged in and responsible for the creation, development, execution, and supervision of all aspects of infrastructure services across the Birla Carbon enterprise.  The role will be responsible for personal computers, service desks, servers, data centers, computing infrastructure and voice/data networks.  Operational responsibilities include field support, service desk, data center operations and distributed technical services and IT support.


  • Plan, develop and execute a multi-year information technology strategy, and the implementation of a corporate-wide disaster-recovery strategy and program
  • Lead diverse team of internal and external resources for the 24x7 delivery of all end users services to Birla Carbon locations worldwide
  • Manage and establish infrastructure services, including  Server, Network, Telecommunications, Desktop, Service Desk and Intranet/Internet
  • Modernize and streamline infrastructure to ensure seamless, efficient and structured operations
  • Develop and manage high-performing globally dispersed teams as well as effectively manage vendors to create an efficient and scalable infrastructure environment which is responsive and capable of supporting the business
  • Understand both the technical requirements and commercial impact that global infrastructure has on the business


Qualifications:

Required:

 > Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Information Technology or related field of study

 > Minimum 15 years of IT experience and 10 years of experience in IT leadership and staff management experience in areas of responsibility and in similar roles with a comparably sized or larger company

 Basic Manufacturing Knowledge & Mission critical support 24x7 experience 

 > Proven ability to partner with the business and IT to set and execute infrastructure strategy

 > Proven track record and experience in developing infrastructure policies and procedures, as well as successfully executing programs that meet the objectives of excellence in a dynamic environment

 > Experience in assessing, negotiating, outsourcing contracts

 > Understanding of ITIL and processes and framework preferred

  •   Forms partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to drive            infrastructure strategy forward
  •   Project management skills: financial/budget management,scheduling,        resource and priority management
  •   Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and            collaborative skills and the ability to communicate infrastructure and end    user computing concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
