Responsible for the effective
execution of all maintenance work control processes. He/She is responsible to
the Maintenance Manager for the efficient and effective use of scheduling and
coordination of all resources to conduct maintenance activities which result
in minimum downtime and maximum productivity. In order to fulfill these
responsibilities in the most effective manner, the Scheduler/Coordinator is
empowered to manage work priority by assigning the Planner work orders to be
planned, ordering the parts and material for those plans, and assist in defining
the crafts and skills and engage the proper resources to develop a safe,
effective and efficient work control plan. In addition, the Scheduler/Coordinator
provides the equipment-related expertise and technical guidance on improving
Preventive/Predictive Maintenance activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Once a valid work request is submitted
the Scheduler/Coordinator will prioritize, assign work to be planned,
schedule and follow-up on accuracy of the job plan for all planned (PM, PdM,
Corrective) work. The focus will be
day to day and long range scheduling but is to be proactive and optimize workforce
productivity and minimize plant downtime by managing work 1 week to 1 month
in advance. Can also assist in
planning and the relief of maintenance supervisors.
Principle contact between the
maintenance department and all other operation departments.
Reviews work requests for accuracy and
clarity. Assigns the work orders to
the planner by priority.
Identifies work requiring engineering
design and reviews them with engineering so that they know what is required
High priority is given to work
requests derived from preventive and predictive work/inspections.
Provide stores a Bill of Materials for
the planned work order and any special kitting instructions.
Orders all materials and equipment determined
from completed approved job plans.
Schedules and coordinates the day to
day work with the supervisors.
Schedule maintenance work agreed upon
from production and operation meetings a minimum of 1-week in advance.
Schedules and coordinates Turnaround
and Plant Outage work.
Work with stores to manage spare parts
usage to maximize turns but minimize the risk of using Critical Spares.
Determine and identify all work that
needs to be scheduled and coordinated with outside vendor/contractor services
for specialized work orders. (i.e., HVAC services, safety inspections, etc.)
Issue scheduled work orders with job
plan packets to supervisors to review with craftsmen and address any
questions about them.
Manage the status of backlog work in
the SAP maintenance system.
Keep accurate metrics on the
performance of planning and scheduling functions and provide timely reports
to Maintenance Manager and Reliability Engineer.
Strive for continuous improvement in all

- High School Diploma or GED

School or Apprenticeship program background is desirable.
