Job Description:
The Process Engineer is responsible providing advanced metallurgical and technical expertise in areas of process and product quality control, development of new processes/products/practices, application of statistics and identification and resolution of customer problems including technical service to customers.
  • Provide day-to-day support necessary to the manufacturing unit to obtain departmental objectives for safety, quality, cost, and recovery.
  • Establish and maintain operating practices, control plans, and quality standards.
  • Provide input on business decisions to ensure production, sales and marketing decisions are taken with full knowledge of their technological implications.
  • Develop new processes and modify the existing ones to improve product quality and meet customer specifications at a minimum cost with uncompromised safety
  • Contribute to customer satisfaction by prompt and accurate investigation and resolution of complaints with sustainable solutions.
  • Contribute to the resolution of in-plant product and process problems to meet the Manufacturing Unit's cost and production effectiveness objectives.  Safety and Lean design are central to this functionality.
  • Promote EHS behavior and policy
  • Implement the EHS management system and ensure continual improvement of EHS performance in day-to-day operations.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping and safe working conditions at all times. 

  • BS/BA in a scientific discipline; Bachelor’s Degree in metallurgy, or chemical engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of three years experience in relevant aluminum metallurgical assignments of increasing complexity and magnitude and will normally have worked in at least two major production or development areas. Experience in aluminum cold rolling, hot rolling, and/or casting preferred.
  • Experience working in a self-led team environment

  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills; ability to communicate with all levels in the organization
  • Personal traits should include the ability to utilize human relation skills to motivate, train, understand, and develop others to attain the objectives
  • Desire to take initiative and develop a pro-active relationship with employees through follow-up, understanding their needs and fostering a collaborative relationship
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload; must be able to manage multiple tasks at once without sacrificing attention to detail
  • Must be flexible and able to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid computer skills with software applications proficiency, including Microsoft Office.  Ability to learn new software programs quickly
  • Must also possess leadership skills to direct, lead and develop other personnel to accomplish personal, plant and corporate objectives
